DIY Pedicure at Home

I am so fascinated with pedicure. The first time that I went to a professional pedicurist was on 10 October 2010. I have read all about salon pedicure and was fascinated to try it. Besides that my feet was badly in need of some loving care.

So this chapter is dedicated to getting your little tootsies some loving if you cant make it to the salon or need to save up some cash or you like me is a savvy ardent DIY.

Steps:

  1. Remove the hard skin from your feet using a pumice stone
  2. Soak your feet in a bowl of slightly hot water to soften the dirt and the dead skin
  3. After 15-20mins, you can rub in some cream to further soften the dead skin.
  4. You could use a foot file as well to gently rub your skin and rinse off the flaky residue.
  5. After this soak your feet for about 10 min in a bowl of warm water.
  6. Add some mineral salts or palm sea salts, along with herbal shampoo or antiseptic lotion with some essential oils such as peppermint, begarmot or lavender.
  7. Relax
After another 10 minutes for nail polish
  • Dry your feet, especially between your toes.
  • Trim the nails of your toes by cutting straight across the tip.
  • Shape the corners with an emery board.
  • Massage your feet with rich foot skin cream.
  • Remove the extra cream from your nails with a cotton bud.
  • Place a toe separator and apply 2 coats of polish before applying the top coat.
  • Dry your nails. If you cannot wait plunge them into a bowl of ice water else use a hair dryer to blow cool air on your feet.
